Immediately at the IJ lake, with view on the Randstad, Almere develops a new Dune city. By creating a new dune landscape in months with many cubic meters of sand in the polder, an area with alternating Dune-Forests and Dune-Valleys is created. Here you can live with a view of on the shore and the sand between your feet. The area is rugged with shells paths, altitude differences and winding residential streets. From your house you can directly enter the nature.
Simple blocks that strengthen the undulating curves of the dunes. Short rows of houses and height-sloping rooflines. The private outdoor area and storage is materialized into a rough wooden deck with a beach house. The ribbed facades are build with sun-exposed light brickwork. The Roofs consist of weathered terracotta tiles. Pergolas and screens made of wooden poles and sticks cast a subtle shadow play on the surroundings. Living in DUIN feels like holiday.
